Aaron Isaac Holden was born October 15, 1869, in Franklin Township, Independence County, Arkansas. He was the son of Archibald Holden and his second wife, Frances A. Miller.
Aaron's mother died in 1875, during childbirth, in Stone County, Arkansas. His father died in 1879, in Stone County.
Aaron appears on the 1880 Stone County census in Sylamore Township, living with his half-sister, Rebecca Jane (Holden) Roberts and her family. Aaron was listed as 11 years old.
Aaron married Augusta Pogue on November 17, 1895, at Van Buren, Crawford County, Arkansas. Augusta Pogue was born June 24, 1879, in Illinois.
The 1900 Sebastian County, Arkansas, census shows Aaron Holden, 28, born November 1871, in Arkansas, married 2 years, a farmer; Augusta, wife, 19, born 1880, in Illinois, married 2 years, given birth to 1 child, 1 child still living and Bertha, daughter, 2, born January 1898, in Indian Territory. (Although the census shows Aaron was born in November 1871, we know that is not correct, as he was listed as seven months old on the 1870 Independence County, Arkansas, census.)
The 1910 LeFlore County, Oklahoma, census shows A. I. Holden, Augusta, and their five oldest children.
Aaron died in 1955, at Fort Smith, Sebastian County, Arkansas. He is buried in Roselawn Cemetery at Fort Smith. Augusta died in 1957, in Chicago, Illinois, according to information from Melva Wilson. Augusta is also buried in Roselawn Cemetery.
