Annie Elizabeth "Eliza" David

Annie Elizabeth "Eliza" David was born June 23, 1841, in Campbell County, Tennessee, the daughter of Sampson David and Mary Brown Bridgman.

The 1850 Campbell County census shows 9 year old Eliza with her family.  The family moved to Walker County, Georgia prior to the 1860 census.  Eliza is shown as 19 on that census.

In the early 1860's several members of the David, Stanfield and Bridgman families moved to Arkansas.  We believe Eliza's parents moved to Arkansas about that time.

Eliza married Aaron Allen Stanfield about 1865, in Arkansas.   Aaron was the son of James Sampson Stanfield and Hannah Rosanna Broyles.

James Stanfield was born May 8, 1815, in Knox County, Kentucky, the son of Sampson Lafayette Stanfield (b. 1768, NC; d. 1837, KY) and Nancy Elizabeth Thomas (b. 1770; d. 1855).  James Stanfield died September 12, 1886, in Sebastian County, Arkansas.  Hannah Rosanna Broyles was born in 1818.

James Stanfield had moved his family to Arkansas prior to 1860.  They were living in Locust Grove Township, Searcy County, Arkansas at the time of the 1860 census.  (That area later became part of Stone County.)  Aaron was listed on the census as 15 years old.

The 1870 census shows Aaron and Eliza in Cane Hill Township, Washington County, Arkansas.  The census shows Aaron Stanfield, 26, farmer, $500 personal property; A. E., 20, female; M. J., 4, female and E. C. David, 24, female.  This was Eliza's sister, Emily Catherine David.   Aaron's family was living next to his sister Rachel, who by this time was married to James Copeland

The 1880 census shows the family had moved to Washburn Township, Sebastian County, Arkasnsas.  The census shows Aaron Stanfill, 35, farmer; Eoncy, 38, wife; Mary J., 13, daughter; James, 7, son; William, 6, son; Thomas J., 4, son; (unnamed), 6 months, b. Nov, daughter; Catherine David, 28, sister-in-law, single and Marion David, 21, nephew, single, works on farm, b. GA.  (This was Willliam Marion David, son of Eliza's brother James F.
