Amanda Endicott was born about 1812, in Nicholas County, Kentucky, the daughter of Joseph Endicott and Welmet Nation.
Amanda married Ezekiel Kight, Jr. on February 24, 1839, in Posey County, Indiana. Ezekiel Kight, Jr. was the son of Ezekiel Kight and Rebecca Murphy. Ezekiel, Jr.'s brother, Stephen, married Amanda's sister, Emily.
The 1850 Posey County census shows Ezekiel, 34, a farmer, born in Indiana; Amanda, 37, born in Kentucky; Cynthia, age 8, born in Indiana; John F., 4, born in Indiana; and Rebecca J., 2, born in Indiana. They were living in Robb Township. Ezekiel's real estate property is valued at $800.
The family moved to Illinois about 1854-1858. They appear on the 1860 Saline County, Illinois census near Eldorado.
