Andrew Jackson Bridgman was born January 19, 1828, in Campbell County, Tennessee, the son of William Bridgman and Mariam Brown.
Andrew went to visit his brother Sampson David in Bradley County, Tennessee prior to 1850.
Andrew married Lucinda (last name unknown) in early 1850, probably in Bradley County. Lucinda was born about 1825, in Tennessee according to the 1850 census.
The 1850 Bradley County census shows Jackson Bridgman, 23, farmer, married within the year and Lucinda, 25, married within the year. He was living very near his brother Samson David Bridgman and his family.
Lucinda died prior to 1855, possibly in childbirth.
Andrew moved to Texas prior to 1855. We are unsure if he moved to Texas before or after Lucinda's death.
Andrew married Rebecca Kidwell in July 1855, in Parker County, Texas. Rebecca Kidwell was born April 8, 1838, in Clark County, Illinois, the daughter of James Kidwell (b. 1798, KY; d. 1867, Parker Co, TX) and Rachel Lee (b. 1800, KY; d. 1890, Parker Co, TX).
The 1860 Parker County, Texas census shows J. Bridgeman, 31, farmer, $700 real property, $700 personal property; R., 20, (female) and S., 4, (female).
The 1880 Parker County census shows A. J. Bridgeman, 51; Rebecca, wife, 41; James F., son, 18; Margaret I., daughter, 3 and Eliza B. Bridgman, daughter 3 years old.
Andrew died June 9, 1898, in Parker County.
The 1910 Parker County census shows Rebecca living with her son James and his family. The census shows James E. Bridgman, 48, married 27 years, dealer in real estate; Nettie M., wife, 47, had given birth to 5 children, 5 children were still living; Harold O., son, 20; Bertha C., daughter, 17; Arthur V., son, 15; Lottie M., daughter, 8 and Rebecca Bridgman, mother, 71, widow, had given birth to 5 children, 2 children were still living.
Rebecca died January 22, 1928, in Parker County.
