Anne E. Bridgman was born about 1829, in Campbell County, Tennessee, the daughter of William Bridgman and Mariam Brown. Anne and her brother Oliver P. may have been twins.

Anne married William Bruce on March 6, 1856, in Campbell County. William Bruce was born 1827, in Tennessee, the son of Daniel Bruce and Mary "PollIie" Clotfelter.
Daniel Bruce was born 1798, in South Carolina and died June 24, 1874, in Campbell County. Mary "Pollie" Clotfelter was born 1801, in Georgia and died November 13, 1875, in Campbell County. All but the eldest of Daniel and Polly's children were born in Campbell County. Their children included: (1) Olive "Ollie" Bruce, b. 1823, GA; m. Sampson David Queener; (2) Nancy Bruce, b. 1825; m. Clotfelter; (7) Elizabeth Bruce, b. 1840; m. Isaac Muzings; (8) John Bruce, b. 1842; m. Sarah David and (9) George R. Bruce, b. 1849.
Anne died in Campbell County about 1857-1859, probably in childbirth.
William appears on the 1860 Campbell County census with his sister Ollie. The census shows Olly Queener, 37, $1000 real property, $500 personal property; John, 10; Henny, 9; Mary E., 6; Daniel, 5; Margaret Ann, 3 and William Bruce, 33, farm laborer.
