John Crow's Heirs

Chatham County,
North Carolina
1849

I have in my hands, as Clerk of the County Court of Guilford County, North Carolina, a considerable sum of money, belonging to the heirs at law of John Crow, deceased, (not Jennings) late of Chatham County, North Carolina. The said John Crow, deceased, left several children, heirs at law, to wit; Jesse, James, Reuben, John, Gabriel, Sarah, Rachel and Elizabeth. They have all got their shares but Jesse, Rachel (whom it is said married a Smith) and Reuben Crow. Jesse, I am informed, lives in Tennessee; Rachel Crow, alias Smith, in Missouri; and Reuben left this State, and it is said settled some where in the State of Georgia. If this notice should meet the eye of any of them or their relations or friends, it would be well for them to write immediately. James Crow, one of the heirs, who resides in this county, informs me that his brother Reuben, or Isaac, as he was sometimes called, left this State and went to Clarke County, Georgia, but has not heard from him in many years.
