Benjamin married Martha (last name unknown), who was born about 1820. They settled in Marion County, Tennessee, just prior to 1840. Census indicates they ran a dry goods store there for a time.
The 1850 Marion County, Tennessee census, shows B.F. Bridgman, 38, farmer, real estate valued at $600; Martha, 27; Marian, 4; and Josephine, 1 year old.
Benjamin died prior to 1880, in Marion County. The 1880 Marion County census, Jasper Township, shows M. A. Bridgeman, 63, widowed; and Benjamin F., son, 19, laborer. Living near-by is Martha's other son, John Bridgeman and his family. The census shows John B. Bridgeman, 22, farmer; Cintha E., wife, 22, born in Georgia, father and mother both born in North Carolina; and Luther S., son, 2, born in Tennessee.
