Benjamin Calvin Wheeler

Benjamin Calvin Wheeler was born December 29, 1833, in Campbell County, Tennessee, the son of Richard Drummond Wheeler and Charlotte Bridgman.

The 1850 and 1860 Campbell County, Tennessee census shows Benjamin at home with his parents and siblings, working on his father's farm.

Benjamin married Julia Eveline Wood on November 21, 1865, in Knox County, Tennessee. Evaline was born January 8, 1848, in Knox County.

The 1870 Campbell County census shows Ben Wheeler, 35, farmer, $3000 real property, $500 personal property; Evaline, 21; John, 3; Edward, 1 and M. Thompson, 2, female, born in Tennessee.   We do not know the identity of this little girl.

We believe the family moved to Knox County, Tennessee around 1871.  The 1880 Knox County census, town of Knoxville, shows Ben C. Wheeler, 47, a farmer; Evaline, wife, 32; John W., son, 13; Edward M., son, 11; Jessie C., daughter, 7; and Mary Queener, adopted daughter, single, 18 years old.

Benjamin died October 17, 1896, in Birmingham, Alabama.  Eveline died March 3, 1926, in Knox County, Tennessee.
