Bobbie Dean McClure

Bobbie Dean McClure was born July 18, 1941, at Formosa, in Van Buren County, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles William McClure and Velma Mae Branham.

As a child, Bobbie worked in the cotton fields of Van Buren and Conway Counties with her family. Later she worked the soda fountain in a drug store at Morrilton, in Conway County. She worked for a time at the garment factory at Morrilton.

     While visiting her brother, Virgil in Udal, Kansas, Bobbie met Wolberton Leroy Cole.   They were married at Morrilton, AR on September 4, 1957.   They returned to Udal to live.  The marriage ended in divorce about a year later and Bobbie returned to Morrilton.  

Bobbie married John Allen Helton on September 17, 1960, at Morrilton, Arkansas. John Helton was born in Conway County, the son of John Helton and Maggie Like.

Bobbie and John moved to Wichita, Kansas in 1965, settling at Haysville, a suburb of Wichita. John was employed at Garvey Grainery at Haysville, Kansas for many years. Bobbie worked at a clothing factory as a seamstress and line supervisor for many years. Later Bobbie became employed as a Park Ranger working at the Winfield City Lake at Winfield, Kansas. This was a job Bobbie greatly enjoyed.

Bobbie died March 28, 2002, at Winfield, Kansas. She is buried in Greenwood Cemetery at Wichita.

John died September 26, 2007, at Hayesville, Kansas and is buried beside Bobbie.
