Charlene McClure was born at Formosa, in Van Buren County, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles William McClure and Velma Mae Branham.
Charlene married Edmond Monroe "Ed" Dugan at Morrilton, in Conway County, Arkansas. Ed Dugan was born at Rayford, Oklahoma.
Ed worked as a logger after their marriage. He moved his family to Oklahoma for a time, and after returning to Conway County, was in the service station business for a few years. He then worked for Morrilton Packing Company several years, before retiring because of health problems.
