Charity Cypert was born about 1844, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert S. Cypert and Mary Farris.
Charity married William J. Parker on November 28, 1865, in Tennessee.
Charity then married John David Stricklin, son of James Hiram Stricklin and Nancy Caroline Daniel. John was the grandson of Thomas Stricklin and Mary Ann Strain, and the great grandson of John Stricklin and Martha Cole of North Carolina.
Charity and John raised their family in Wayne County. John was the first postmaster of the Lutts Post Office, in Wayne County. He served as postmaster from February 1888, until June 1895, and then again from November 1903, until January 1906.
Charity and John both died in Wayne County. They are buried in the Lutts Cemetery at Lutts, in Wayne County.
