Clara Ada "Clery" Baugus was born January 1885, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert Wesley "Bob" Baugus and Margaret Martha Malinda "Lindy" Horton.
The Baugus family settled in Searcy County, Arkansas, between 1896 and 1899. Lindy and the children moved to Conway County, Arkansas, after 1906.
Clery married Oscar Francis Johnson on April 9, 1906, in Searcy County. Oscar Johnson was born in 1885. The family settled at Plumerville, in Conway County, where they raised their family.
Clery and Oscar eventually moved to California. Clery died Brawley, California, and is buried in the Brawley Cemetery. Oscar married Cora (last name unknown) after Clery's death. (Cora later married Clery's brother Wilford Baugus.) Oscar died several years after Clery's death. He is buried at Turlock, California.
