Nancy V. McClure

Nancy V. "Dollie" McClure was born July 1873, in Van Buren County or White County, Arkansas. She was the daughter of James Orsen McClure and Alzira Scarlett.

Dollie married James C. Speed on December 2, 1893. James Speed was born December 1863, in Arkansas. James had a daughter, Effie M. Speed, born in 1888, from a prior marriage.

The 1900 Independence County, Arkansas census, Christian Township, shows James C. Speed, 36, born December 1863, in Arkansas, married 6 years, a farmer; Dollie V., wife, 25, born July 1874, in Arkansas, married 6 years, had given birth to 3 children, 3 children still living; Effie M., daughter, 12, born January 1888, in Arkansas; Boyer C., son, 6, born September 1893, in Arkansas; Zora, daughter, 4, born August 1895, in Arkansas; and Bryan, son, 2, born July 1897, in Arkansas.

 James and Dollie both died at Pleasant Plains, in Independence County, Arkansas, in a 1913 pneumonia outbreak. Dollie died January 2, 1913, and James died January 11, 1913. They are both buried near Pleasant Plains, in Independence County.
