Dorothy Ellen Greeson was born July 23, 1875, in Tennessee. She was the daughter of David C. Greeson and Sarah Ann Elizabeth Berry.
Ellen married William Leonard Belew.
William Belew was born August 6, 1872, son of John Jacob Belew and Mary Frances Norman. John Jacob Belew, born 1844, in Lawrence County, Tennessee, died 1934, in Wayne County, Tennessee, was the son of Robert Glenn Belew (born 1815, in South Carolina; died 1890) and Lucinda (born 1817, in Giles County, Tennessee; died 1906). Mary Frances Norman died in 1875, when her son, William L. was about three years old.
William's father, John Jacob, moved his family to Wayne County, soon after the death of William's mother in 1875. John Jacob was a farmer. He married Sarah C. Jackson in 1881, in Wayne County.
Ellen and William had three children. Information provided by Jeff Sizemore, great grandson of Dorothy and William Belew, indicates that William was fatally injured on October 21, 1912 when his team of horses allowed a wagon he was pushing to back over him.
Ellen married Lon Thomas Meredith on February 24, 1921, in Wayne County. Lon Meredith, born 1857, died 1942, was the son of Lovick Rasbury Meredith and Annabelle Matthews. Lon was a widower with children from two previous marriages.
Lon died May 20, 1942, in Hill County, Texas. Ellen died January 7, 1959, in Enid, Oklahoma.
