About 1892, Edward married Orpha A. Herring, daughter of Adaline Herring. Orpha was born in March 1873, according to the 1900 census.
The 1900 Bannock County, Idaho census, Pocatello Precinct, shows the family living on Hayes Avenue. The census shows Edward Fritz, born Feburary 1852, 48, married for 8 years, a paper hanger who owned his house; Orpha A., wife, born March 1873, 27, married for 8 years, had given birth to 2 children, both children still living; Ethel I, daughter, born March 1893, 7, born in Nebraska; Inez A., daughter, born September 1895, 4 , born in Idaho and Adaline Herring, mother-in-law, born June 1836, 63, widowed, had given birth to 6 children, 5 children still living, born in Ohio, father born in New York and mother born in Massachusetts.
