Ella P. Horton was born November 17, 1878, in Tennessee, the daughter of Peter Gales Horton and Sarah Margaret Ayers.
Ella married George Washington Heard on May 13, 1896, in Wayne County, Tennessee. George Heard was born January 27, 1875.
George and Ella came into possession of the property where the Isaac Horton Cemetery is located and owned it for many years. The property is still called the Heard farm by many local residents.
Ella died September 21, 1914, in Wayne County. She is buried in Mt. Hope Cemetery, at Cypress Inn, in Wayne County. George died November 24, 1944.
