Emaline Frances Sypert

(My sincere thanks to Jacquelyn Bean for sharing the following information she received from Syble Sypert Dwight.)

Emaline Frances Sypert was born October 6, 1836, in Wilson County, Tennessee, the daughter of Robert Bell Sypert and Juliet Hunt Jackson.

Emaline married James Blount Barker on June 15, 1853, in Wilson County. James Barker was born about 1832, in Wilson County. It is believed James Barker first married Sarah A. James on September 8, 1849, in Rutherford County, Tennessee.

James died July 1876, in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. In late 1879 or early 1880, their son Tom took Emaline and the younger children in a covered wagon to her father's house in Harrison County, Texas, where Juliet was living. Emaline's father had died in April 1879.

Emaline died in 1880, at Hallsville, in Harrison County, just three weeks after arriving in Texas. She was buried beside her father in the family cemetery in Ash Springs, which is located about two miles southeast of today's Hallsville, Texas.
