James Franklin Bridgman

James Franklin "Frank" Bridgman was born April 7, 1907, near Timbo, in Stone County, Arkansas. He was the son of Thomas Jefferson Howard Bridgman and Frances Adeline Catherine Holden.

The Bridgman family moved to Conway County, Arkansas, in 1917. They settled on rich farm land south of Morrilton. Frank appears with the family on the 1920 Conway County census, living on Scroggins Farm Road.  About 1924, the Bridgman family moved to Solgohachia in Conway County.

An accident early in life, in which Frank got kerosene in his eyes, left him with vision problems which bothered him his entire lifetime. As a young man, Frank enjoyed playing the guitar, and he had the reputation around Solgohachia, where he grew up, as being the best marble player around.

Frank married Mrs. Dorothy Naomi (York) Moss on Feb 19, 1949, in Conway County. Dorothy York was born April 27, 1923, at Casa, Arkansas, the daughter of Robert York and Audie Elleth Cody.

Frank was a farmer most of his life. He spent many years living in other areas of the state while engaged in farming. He returned to Conway County a few years before his death.  Frank and Dorothy separated sometime after they returned to Conway County.

Frank and Dorothy had no children. Dorothy had a daughter, Audisty "Audi" Moss, from a previous marriage. She was just a small child when Frank and Dorothy married.

Frank died January 14, 1967, at Morrilton, in Conway County. He is buried beside his parents in Friendship Cemetery near Solgohachia.

Dorothy died December 3, 2001, at Mountainburg, Arkansas and is buried in Hamilton Cemetery.
