George Coleman Hess was born October 26, 1881, at Marcella, in Stone County, Arkansas, the son of William T. Hess and Annie B. Heuse.
George married Matilda Johnson on December 8, 1906. Matilda Johnson was the daughter of Joel Johnson and Phillessee Brightwell.
The 1910 Stone County, Wallace Township, census shows George was a blacksmith and owned his own shop.
George married Gertrude Patterson on March 6, 1938, in Stone County.
George died December 16, 1953, at Marcella, in Stone County.
