Henry Horton was born about 1840, in Tennessee, the son of William Melvin Horton and Rachel Thornton.
Henry married Martha Jane Sandusky on March 26, 1863, in Wayne County, Tennessee. Martha Sandusky was born December 13, 1837, the daughter of J. B. Sandusky. Martha died July 20, 1895, in Wayne County. She is buried in the Isaac Horton Cemetery.
Henry was a member of Co. A, 10th Tennessee Infantry, under Capt. Henry N. Lee, in the Civil War. He enlisted October 4, 1863, and was discharged June 24, 1865, in Knoxville, Tennessee.
Henry then married Mary E. Scott on May 28, 1899, in Wayne County. Mary Scott was born May 20, 1851, in Tennessee, the daughter of George Scott and Rebecca. Mary died January 18, 1929, in Florence, Alabama.
Henry died June 1907, in Wayne County, and is buried in the Isaac Horton Cemetery.
