Jacob VanDusen was born about 1797, in New York. He married Sarah (last name unknown), who was born about 1802, in Pennsylvania according to census.
Jacob and Sarah VanDusen had several children including: (1) Joseph VanDusen (b. abt 1829, IN), (2) Elijah VanDusen (b. abt 1833, IN), (3) Dennis F. F. VanDusen (b. abt 1836, IN), (4) Aaron VanDusen (b. abt 1838, IN), (5) Solomon VanDusen (b. abt 1842, IN), (6) Kisiah VanDusen (b. abt 1842, IN) and (7) Simon VanDusen (b. abt 1844, IN).
The family appears on the 1850 Decatur County, Indiana census. There were several other VanDusen families living around them and we believe they were closely related. We know nothing more about Jacob.
Aaron VanDusen, born about 1838, in Indiana, was the son of Jacob and Sarah VanDusen.
Aaron married Mary A. (last name unknown) before 1865, probably in Indiana.
We do not know how many children were born to Aaron and Mary. The 1880 St. Joseph County, Indiana census lists four of their children. Aaron's brother Dennis was living with the family at that time.
