Isabella Catherine Archer

Isabella Catherine Archer was born May 24, 1848, at Jacksboro, in Campbell County, Tennessee, the daughter of John Archer and Martha D. Bridgmon.

The 1850 Campbell County census shows 2 year old Isabella with her parents and siblings.

The Archer family moved to Holt County, Missouri about 1852.  Ten year old Isabella appears on the 1860 Holt County census with her family.

Isabella married Marion Burr Dryden about 1866, in Missouri. Marion Dryden was born December 23, 1843 in Bollinger County, Missouri, the son of John Dryden (b. 1815; d. 1859) and Mary Gasaway (b. 1817; d. 1848). 

The 1870 Jackson County, Missouri census shows W. M. Dryden, 32, farmer, born Illinois; Marion Dryden, 26, farmer, $30,000 real prop, $12,000 pers prop, born Missouri; J. C., 22, born Tennessee; Jno, 3, born Missouri and Mary, 8 months old, born October in Missouri.

The 1880 Jackson County, Missouri census, Washington Township, shows Marion Dryden, 36, a farmer; Isabelle C., wife, 32; John A., son, 13; Lucy J., daughter, 9; Minnie B., daughter, 7 and James E., son, 1 year old.

About 1886 the family moved to Indian Territory of present day Oklahoma. 

The 1900 Cherokee Nation, Indian Territory census shows Maron Dryden, born Dec. 1844, 55, married 33 years, a farmer who rented his farm; Isabell, wife, born May 1848, 52, had given birth to 13 children, 8 children were still living; Annie E., daughter, born May 1882, 18, born in Kansas; Blanch L., daughter, born Oct. 1885, 15, born in Kansas; Francis A., daughter, born Oct. 1887, 12, born in Indian Territory and Lula E., daughter, born Feb. 1890, 10, born in Indian Territory.

Marion died  May 1, 1918, at Coffeyville, Montgomery County, Kansas.  Isabrella died December 28, 1928, at Dennison, Grayson County, Texas.
