(Contributed by Cathy Emch.) Emmarintha Irena Delilah Icephene "Icie" Horton was born April 16, 1872 in Searcy County, Arkansas, the daughter of Mordecai Pinckney Horton and Louiza Jane Reaves.
Icie married Hiram Elba Howard on April 16, 1897. Hiram Howard was born October 4, 1870 at Cleveland, in Bradley County, Tennessee, the son of Samuel P. Howard and Mary Tine Hambright. Hiram was first married to Casandra Wilhoit, who was born about 1870 and died March 12, 1896. They had one son, Robbie Lee Howard, born September 30, 1894, Childress County, Texas; died December 29, 1981, Ardmore, Oklahoma; married Bertha Pearl Hellums.
Icie died September 20, 1959, at Ardmore, Carter County, Oklahoma. She is buried in the Rose Hill Cemetery at Ardmore.
