Jacob Marshall, Jr. was born November 16, 1771, in Orange County, North Carolina, the son of Jacob Marshall and Margaret Scypert.
Jacob married Hannah Andrews on March 16, 1797, at Cane Creek MM, in Orange County (now Alamance County). Hannah Andrews was born September 12, 1778, in Orange County, the daughter of John Andrews and Deborah (last name unknown).
Jacob and Hannah raised their family in North Carolina. Jacob died in Guilford County, North Carolina, on January 20, 1815, just five days after his youngest daughter was born. He is buried in Cane Creek Monthly Meeting House Cemetery.
