James Crow was born in Pickens County, South Carolina, the son of John Crow and Elizabeth Clarke.
James married Lurana (last name unknown), who was reportedly born September 8, 1803. We doubt this date is accurate, as their first child was reportedly born in 1827, at which time Lurana would have been 14 years old. We believe either her date of birth is incorrect, or the date of birth given us for their first child is incorrect.
James and Lurana had eight children. Lurana died in 1851.
James then married Elizabeth Ault on December 7, 1860, in Whitfield County, Georgia. Elizabeth Ault was born 1827, in Tennessee. James and Elizabeth had four children.
James died March 3, 1881, near Dalton, in Whitfield County, Georgia.
