Jasper Edwin Franks was born October 1876, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of William Morton Franks and Emiline Paralee "Emily" Horton.
The Franks family moved to Searcy County, Arkansas, between about 1891 and 1897. They settled in the Campbell Community, near Leslie.
Jasper married Mary Etta Sterling in Arkansas. They settled in Searcy County.
The 1910 Searcy County census, Campbell Township, shows Jasper E. Franks, 31, a farmer; Mary E., 26; had given birth to 3 children, 3 children still living; Charley L., son, 5; Verny, daughter, 4; and Vena V., daughter, 2 years old.
The 1930 Searcy County census, Campbell Township, shows J. Ed Franks, 50, owned his farm; M. Etta, 46; and Madge G., daughter, 12 years old.
