James Wayne Cypert was born in 1818, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Jesse Newton Cypert and Jemima Worthen.
James married Eleanor "Ella" McMillan about 1840, in Wayne County. Eleanor McMillan was born about 1823, in Illinois.
James and Ella moved to Arkansas about 1851. They settled in Izard County. James served as Treasurer of Izard County from 1856 to 1860. James enlisted in the Confederate Army during the Civil War. He was killed by Yankees near his home in Izard County. Ella died in 1868, in Missouri.
