John Ellison Cole was born July 19, 1861, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Franklin Cole and Nancy Emaline Berry.
The 1880 Wayne County census shows 18 year old John still single and living at home with his parents and siblings.
John Ellison married Sophronia Ann Jordon on July 17, 1884. Sophronia Jordon was born August 19, 1870.
John was a farmer. He and Sophronia had ten children.
John died May 29, 1937. Sophronia died October 18, 1943.
