John H. Endicott was born in 1797, in Kentucky, the son of Joseph Endicott and Welmet Nation.
Records show that John served in the War of 1812, for which he later drew a pension.
John married Elizabeth Swanson on September 1, 1816, in Nicholas County, Kentucky. Elizabeth Swanson was born in 1796, in Virginia.
John was a farmer. He moved his family to Montgomery County, Indiana, about 1829. By 1850, John was in Posey County, Indiana. Mable McCloskey says John moved to Illinois after 1852.
Elizabeth died about 1875, and is buried in Wesley Chapel Cemetery, in Saline County, Illinois. John died in Rectorville, Illinois in 1878 and is buried beside his wife.
