James Henry Pierce was born December 4, 1874, at Big Spring, Stone County, Arkansas, the son of James Payton Pierce and Lucinda Thompson.
James married Ada Tubbs on September 14, 1897.
He married Hannah Elizabeth Gower on June 26, 1900, in Stone County. Hannah Gower was the daughter of Jackson Gower and Mary Anderson.
James died May 19, 1957, at Marshall, Searcy County, Arkansas.
