James Isaac Horton was born February 24, 1876, in Searcy County, Arkansas, the son of Jacob Gilroy Horton and Virginia Belle "Vinny" Wright.
James married Emma Louise Ellis on August 1, 1896, in Searcy County. Emma Ellis was born November 18, 1876, at Waynesboro, in Wayne County, Tennessee. She was the daughter of James Henry Ellis and his wife Jane.
Emma died in Boone County, Arkansas, on June 7, 1957. James died in Searcy County on November 13, 1959.
