All other records indicate that both boys were born in Tennessee. Jeremiah was the son of Archibald Holden and Jemima (last name unknown).
Jeremiah's family moved to Jackson County, Arkansas between 1845 and 1849.
The 1850 Jackson County census shows the family living in Cache Township. Jeremiah was listed as 5 years old on the census.
The family moved to Izard County, Arkansas between 1851 and 1858, and then to Independence County, Arkansas around 1865 to 1869.
Jeremiah married Sarah J. Gilson on February 17, 1869, in Independence County. Sarah Gilson was born about 1847, in Tennessee.
Jeremiah and Sarah appear on the 1870 Izard County census, in Sylamore Township. The census shows Jeremiah Holden, 25, a farmer, born in TN and Sarah, 23, born in TN.
The 1880 Crawford County, Arkansas census shows the family living at Alma. The census shows Jasper Holden, 35, born in TN; Sarah, wife, 32, born in TN; Rebecca, daughter, 9, born in AR; A. B., son, 6, born in AR and Lockey V., daughter, 2, born in AR.
