Jo Ann McClure

Jo Ann McClure was born April 8, 1944, at Formosa, in Van Buren County, Arkansas, the daughter of Charles William McClure and Velma Mae Branham.

Jo Ann married Cecil Hill in August 1962, at Adona, in Perry County, Arkansas.

Cecil Hill was the son of Norman Winton Hill and Goldia George. Cecil's siblings included Esther Hill, Winton Hill, Billy Hill, and Marjorie Hill.

Cecil and Jo moved to Chicago, Illinois right after their married, but returned to Perry County after a couple of months when they were unable to find employment.    Cecil then worked for a time for the Forestry Service.

Cecil began working for Rock Island Railroad prior to 1970.   In the early 1980's, Cecil got laid off with the railroad.   He then became employed as a truck driver for Arkansas Valley Wholesale Grocery at Morrilton.

Jo Ann worked for a time at a chicken processing plant at Dardanelle.  She decided that wasn't the line of work for her though, so she enrolled in a nursing course and graduated as a LPN.   She returned to school and got her RN degree.   In the mid 1980's, Jo worked for a time at St. Mary's Hospital at Russellville, in Pope County, Arkansas.

Rock Island Railroad went out of business and in the mid 1980's Cecil went to work for Missouri Pacific Railroad.   The family moved to Nebraska for a short time and, about 1987, the family moved to El Reno, Oklahoma, where Jo Ann continued working in the medical profession and Cecil continued working for MOPAC Railroad.

Jo Ann died March 29, 1995, at El Reno, Oklahoma and is buried in the El Reno Cemetery. Cecil and the family still reside in El Reno.
