John Shields Sims was born July 25, 1879, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Hartwell Ebenezer John Shields Sims and Edith Malinda Caroline Youngblood.
John married Effronia S. "Effie" Beckham on December 12, 1900. Effie Beckham was born in 1877 and died in 1912.
John then married Ethel Lucille Williams. John died April 18, 1958.
