John William Cypert, Jr. was born April 22, 1826, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of John William Cypert and Nancy Anderson.
John married Sarah Loyd on March 13, 1845, in Wayne County. Sarah Loyd was born about 1825, in Alabama.
John and Sarah moved to Arkansas with the dozens of other Cypert and related families, in the fall of 1851.

Cypert, 34, farmer, $240 personal property, $800 real property, born in Tennessee; Sarah, 36, born in Alabama; Thomas F., 14, born in Tennessee; Louiza, 11, born in Tennessee; Minerva, 9, born in Arkansas; John H, 7, born in Arkansas; James R., 5, born in Arkansas; Mary E., 3, born in Arkansas; and Nancy E., 1 born in Arkansas.
John was a Captain in Co E. of J. T. Coffee's Confederate Regt., in the Civil War. He was a farmer and a Circuit Judge (near Memphis).

Cypert, 54, born in Tennessee; Sarah, wife, 55, born in Alabama; Nancy E., daughter, 20, born in Arkansas; James R., son, 25, born in Arkansas; Sarah J., daughter, 18, born in Arkansas; and Alice T., daughter, 12, born in Arkansas. Living with the family was W. N. Loyd, (male) 15, born in Arkansas.
John died in Searcy or Fulton County, Arkansas. He is buried in Lidely Cemetery at Lidely, Arkansas.
