Joseph Zachariah Stanfield was born July 24, 1861, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Thomas Peyton Stanfield and Comfort Annis Woody.
Joseph married Ida S. Barlow on January 10, 1886, at Booneville, in Logan County, Arkansas. Ida Barlow was the daughter of William Barlow and Elfidy Wilson. Ida was a sister to Alonzo Barlow who married Joseph's sister Comfort Annis Stanfield.
Joseph died December 21, 1943, at Booneville, Arkansas.
