Abijah O'Neal
Conveyance To
Martin M. Hess
Know all men by these presents that I, Abijah O'Neal, for and in consideration of the sum of Fifty-one dollars and twenty-five cents, by Martin M. Hess in hand paid, and whereas about four years ago I bought of said Martin M. Hess, a privilege of keeping and landing a ferry on his land on the south-west side of White River near to the house of said Martin M. Hess, owning in my own right at that time on the north-west side of White River, and just opposite to said Hess' land and landing aforesaid, and whereas said writing by which said privilege and right was granted to me by said Hess has been inadvertently mislaid so that it can not be found and now desiring in consideration of the above sum to reconvey to said Martin M. Hess the right and privilege which I acquired by said writing, I do hereby grant, sell, and convey unto said Hess and unto his heirs forever, all the interest which I may have acquired in the right and privilege of keeping and landing a ferry on said land on the south-west side of White River as aforesaid, and I will forever warrant and defend said right and privilege against all claims of myself and my heirs occurring by reason of said conveyance from Hess to me. Given under my hand and seal at Batesville, Arkansas, this 18th day of October A.D. 1854.
