Annie Liza Bridgman

Annie Liza Bridgman was born April 16, 1877, in Walker County, Georgia, the daughter of Franklin David Bridgman and Margaret "Mary" Ann Hall.

Three year old Annie appears on the 1880 Walker County, Georgia census with her family. 

Annie was living at home with her widowed mother in 1900.  The 1900 Walker County census shows Mary Bridgman, born July 1836, 68, widow, had given birth to 4 children, 3 children were still living; Anna, daughter, born Apr 1880, 20, weaver in cotton mill; Thos. C., son, born Aug 1886, 14, roller in cotton mill and Mary, daughter, born Jan 1882, 18, worked in cotton mill.  Visiting with the family was Eva L. Plaster, granddaughter, born May 1895, 5 years old.  

Annie married Oliver Orlando Newsome on November 2, 1901, in Walker County, Georgia. Oliver Newsome was born November 7, 1877, in Georgia, the son of George Washington Freeman Newsome (b. 1843, GA; d. 1900, GA) and Mildred McPherson/Pettigrew (b. 1854, MS; d. 1912, GA). 

The 1910 Walker County census shows Oliver O. Newsome, 32, married 9 years, foreman at cotton mill; Annie, wife, 31, had given birth to 2 children, 2 children were still living; Grady, son, 7 and Oliver, son 1 year old. 

The 1920 census shows the family living in Chattooga County, Georgia.  The census shows Oliver O. Newsome, 42, overseer of cloth room at cotton mill; Anna L., wife, 42; Wallace G., son, 17, cloth inspector at cotton mill; Oliver F., son, 11; Hubert F., son, 8; Harry N., son, 6 and Raymond T., son, 2 years old.  Listed next to them was Annie's sister, Mary and Rudy Pollard and family.

Oliver died August 5, 1934, in Georgia.   Annie died April 12, 1959, in Chattooga County, Georgia.
