Luther Conway McClure was born June 4, 1906, in either White or Cleburne County, Arkansas, the son of Dode McClure and Eliza J. Jones.
Luther married Thelma Pearl Shipley on November 12, 1927, in Conway County, Arkansas. Pearl Shipley was born April 29, 1903.
The 1930 Van Buren County, Arkansas census, Griggs Township, shows Luther McClure, 23, married at 21, a farmer who rented his farm; Pearl T., 25, married at 23; Carl, 4; Orvan B., 11 months; and Daisy L., 1 month old.
Luther and Pearl raised their children near Formosa, in Van Buren County, Arkansas.
Luther died September 30, 1958, and is buried in Culpepper Cemetery in Van Buren County. Pearl died January 1987 and is also buried in Culpepper Cemetery.
