Margaret Adeline Alexander was born February 15, 1856, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of Thomas Alexander and Rebecca Berry.
The family moved to Searcy County, Arkansas about 1858.
Adaline married John F. Norman about 1874. John Norman was born January 1853, in Tennessee.
The 1880 Marion County, Arkansas census, Buffalo Fork Township, shows John Norman, 27, a farmer; Adaline, wife, 25; Thomas, son, 5; Sanford, son, 3; and William, son, 6 months old. Living with the family were John Sexton, 23, a laborer, born in Missouri; and Joshua Woody, 21, a laborer, born in Tennessee.
The 1900 Marion County census, Water Creek Township, shows John F. Norman, 47, born January 1853, in Tennessee, married 26 years, a farmer who owned his farm; Adaline M., wife, 42, born February 1858, in Tennessee, married 26 years, had given birth to 8 children, 8 children still living; Sanford, son, 22, born November 1877, in Arkansas; Floyd W., son, 20, born January 1880, in Arkansas; Alpine, son, 17, born December 1882, in Arkansas; Marvin, son, 16, born March 1884, in Arkansas; Maude M., daughter, 11, born July 1888, in Arkansas; Dewitt, son, 9, born March 1891, in Arkansas; and Iva P., daughter, 3, born June 1896, in Arkansas.
John died in 1936. Adaline died June 25, 1943, at Leslie, in Searcy County, Arkansas.
