Malinda Horton
Deed Gift
To: J. W. Lay and P.
G. Horton
Know all men by these presents,
greetings. I, Malinda Horton, have this day made unto John Lay
and P. G. Horton, a deed to what effect she now has, both
personal and real estate for her lifetime, and that we the said John
Lay and P. G. Horton doth bind ourselves to take good
care of Malinda Horton while she lives. The property the said Malinda
Horton has consists as follows, to wit, her interest in the
land, one heifer, one note on James Horton calling for
Eighteen Dollars due 1st of April 1868, one account on Benj. Horton,
amounting not knowing exactly, and the balance consists of household
and kitchen furniture. I, Malinda Horton, have this day in the
presence of the undersigned witnesses, do bequeath and give unto John
W. Lay and P. G. Horton all the above named property to
have and to hold as their own during my lifetime, they taking care of
me in return, this December 6, 1867.
