Mary Marshall was born June 22, 1773, in Orange County, North Carolina, the daughter of Jacob Marshall and Margaret Scypert.
Mary married Jesse Hinshaw on October 7, 1790, at Cane Creek Monthly Meeting, in Orange County (now Alamance County). Jesse Hinshaw was born August 9, 1770, in Orange County, the son of Jesse Hinshaw and Abigail Marshall (Marshill).
Mary and Jesse raised their family in Chatham County, North Caroline. Mary died in Chatham County on May 6, 1806. Jesse died August 20, 1846, possibly in Chatham County. They are possibly buried in Cane Creek Cemetery in Orange County.
