Mary R. Horton was born about 1854, in Wayne County, Tennessee, the daughter of James Henry Horton and Lydia Youngblood.
Mary married Samuel Winfield Scott Sims on September 5, 1869. Samuel Sims was born in 1848, Wayne County, Tennessee, the son of Matthew John Sims and Dorothy Greeson. Mary died about 1898, at Finley, Dyer County, Tennessee. John died in 1925, Dyersburg, Tennessee.
