Nathaniel A. "Elic" Horton was born October 24, 1856, at Bear Creek, in Searcy County, Arkansas. He was the son of Isaac H. "Ikey" Horton and Sarah "Sallie" Berry.
Elic married Susan A. Cooper Cossey on December 7, 1882, at Bear Creek, in Searcy County. Susan Cossey was born October 12, 1864, the daughter of William Calvin Cossey and Elizabeth Isabelle "Ibbie" Cagle.
Elic died in Searcy County on August 3, 1896. Susan died June 12, 1947.
