Nancy Jane "Nannie" Avey was born December 27, 1852, in Searcy County, Arkansas, the daughter of Peter Avey and Mary Jane George.
Nancy married Henry Bibb Harris in 1870. Henry Bibb Harris was born February 4, 1850, at Mount Olive, Izard County, Arkansas, the son of Andrew Cresswell Harris and Lucretia Jeffery. Andrew C. Harris was born in 1824, and died in 1872. Lucretia Jeffery was born September 21, 1827, at Mount Olive, in Izard County, and died between 1892 and 1895, at Optimus, in Stone County, Arkansas. Lucretia was the daughter of Jehoida Jeffery and Mary "Polly" Weir.
Henry and Nannie appear on the 1880 Stone County census with four children.
The family moved to Baxter County, Arkansas prior to 1900.
Henry died July 1919, at MacPherson, in Baxter County. Nancy died at MacPherson on March 21, 1938.
