Mary Magnolia Icephene Horton

Mary Magnolia Icephene "Nola" Horton was born June 6, 1884, in Searcy County, Arkansas, the daughter of John Ellison Horton and Sarah Jane Woody.

Nola married Francis Marion Aday on September 8, 1904, in Searcy County. Marion Aday was born October 8, 1882, at Archey Creek, in Van Buren County, Arkansas.

After Nola's parents moved to Missouri, around 1911, Nola and Marion moved into their old homeplace. That is where they raised their family, and remained until their deaths. Marion was a farmer.

The 1930 Pope County, Arkansas census, Smyrna Township, Ozark National Forest, shows Marion F. Aday, 47, a farmer who owned his farm; Nola, 45; Eukla, 22, a farm laborer; Dillard, 18; Ruby, 15; Dennard, 13; and Clifford, 9 years old. Living next door was their daughter Ressie and her family.

Marion died February 26, 1959, and is buried in Zion Hill Cemetery, located in Pope County, near the Van Buren County line.

Nola died June 26, 1962, and is buried beside her husband in Zion Hill Cemetery.
