Nora Maria Jones was born December 1882, in Faulkner County, Arkansas, the daughter of Dockery Berry Giddens Jones and his second wife, Sarah Jane Edwards.
Nora's mother died when Nora was about four years old. Nora's dad then married her mother's sister. Nora's Aunt Paralee became her step-mother.
The Jones family moved to White County prior to 1889, and to Van Buren County prior to 1900. Nora grew up in Culpepper Township of Van Buren County.
Nora married Joe Jones. Joe was no relation to Nora. Joe and Nora had at least three children. Nora later married Ben Ray.
