Richard Francis George was born about 1803. It is believed he was the son of Benjamin George and Rachel (last name unknown).
Richard married Nancy (last name unknown) about 1825. Nancy was born about 1802, in South Carolina, according to census.
Richard and Nancy may have been in Alabama about 1826, as census records show their oldest son was born in Alabama about that time. Richard appears on the 1840 Haywood County, Tennessee, census living near his father. About 1841, Richard moved his family to Arkansas. We know he was in Izard County, Arkansas, by 1844, as he paid personal property taxes there in 1845.
Richard apparently died between 1845 and 1850. Nancy is listed as head of the household on the 1850 Izard County, Rocky Bayou Township census. She is living next door to her widowed mother-in-law, Rachel. With Nancy on the census are all eight of their children.
