Richard Stanfield was born 1780, in Randolph County, North Carolina, the son of John Stanfield and Sarah Roberts.
Richard married Martha Grimes.
Richard's family appears on the 1820 Georgia census, in Walton Township. The census shows one male 26-45; one male 16-25; one male 16-18; two males under 10; one female 26-45; two females 16-25; two females 10-15; and three females under 10.
The 1830 Newton County, Georgia census shows one male 50-60; two males 20-30; one female 50-60; one female 20-30; and two females 15-20. (Note: If the date of birth for William P. Stanfield (listed below) who is thought to be the son of Richard and Martha is correct, he is not listed on this census.)
Richard and Martha both probably died between about 1832 and 1840, in Georgia.
