Sarah Renay Branham was born May 23, 1873, in Mississippi. She was the only child of Rolen E. "Robert" Branham and Lucretia King. She was called "Sallie."
Although Sallie was born in Mississippi, she spent most of her life in Arkansas. The 1880 Searcy County, Arkansas, census shows seven-year old Sallie at home with her parents and her 19 year old half-brother, Newton King. Newton King was Lucretia's son, born out of wedlock about 1861, in Alabama.
Sallie married John Jackson Nathaniel Lane on August 17, 1888, in Searcy County. Sallie was only 15 years old at the time, and her father had to write a letter of consent for her to marry.
John Lane was born about 1863, in Mississippi, according to census. He was the son of Bryant Lane and Elizabeth Newell.
Bryant Lane was born about 1828, in North Carolina, the son of Alexander Lane (b. abt 1797, NC) and Elizabeth (last name unknown) (b. abt 1804, SC). Elizabeth Newell was born about 1833, in North Carolina, the daughter of Adam Newell (b. abt 1805, NC) and Margaret (last name unknown) (b. abt 1806, NC).
Bryant and Elizabeth Lane appear on the 1860 and 1870 Kemper County, Mississippi census and on the 1880 Clark County, Arkansas census. Their children included: (1) Robert Lane (b. abt 1855, AL), (2) Alice Theodosia Lane (b. abt 1858, AL), (3) Adam A. Lane (b. abt 1860, MS), (4) John Jackson Nathaniel Lane (b. abt 1863, MS), (5) Margaret Lane (b. abt 1866, MS), (6) Thomas Lane (b. Oct 1869, MS), (7) Virgie Lane (b. abt 1872, AR) and (8) Rufus Lane (b. abt 1875, AR).
Prior to 1900, John and Sallie moved their family to Perry County, Arkansas. The 1900 Perry County census shows them living with Sallie's parents in Houston Township. The census shows Robert Branum, 46, born June 1853, married 28 years, a tie layer for the railroad; Louise, wife, 59, born June 1840, had given birth to 2 children, 1 child still living; John L. Lane, son-in-law, 24, born September 1865, in Mississippi, married 11 years, a tie layer for the railroad; Sallie R., daughter, 27, born May 1863, in Mississippi, had given birth to 5 children, 4 children still living; July, granddaughter, 10, born August 1889; Lulie, granddaughter, 8, born October 1891; Ethel, granddaughter, 4, born August 1895; and July, granddaughter, 3, born April 1897. (Note: Two of the children were listed with the same name. The youngest of the girls was named Julia. We do not know the real name of the older daughter.)
John Lane died about 1901. We believe he is buried in an unmarked grave in the Woolverton Mountain Cemetery in Conway County. John and Sallie had 5 children.
Sallie married Joseph B. Hubbard in 1902, in Van Buren County, Arkansas. Joseph Hubbard was born March 10, 1852, in Illinois. He had been married prior to his marriage to Sallie and had at least two children, Julia I. Hubbard (b. abt 1891, KY) and Philbert Hubbard (b. abt 1893, KY) from that marriage.
The 1910 Van Buren County census, Craig Township, shows Joseph B. Hubbort, 52, married twice, married 8 years; Sallie R., wife, 36, married twice, had given birth to 8 children, 7 children still living; Julia I., daughter, 19, born in Kentucky; Phelbert, son, 17, born in Kentucky; Otto, son, 5; Barney A., son, 3; Jennie E., daughter, 6 months; and Julia Lane, step-daughter, 12.
Joseph Hubbard died December 11, 1910, in Van Buren County from measles with complications due to pneumonia. His daughter Jennie died about the same time. They are buried in Foster Cemetery near Scotland, in Van Buren County. Joseph and Sallie had 3 children together.
Sallie married Jessie Dallas Waddle in 1914, in Van Buren County. Census indicates that Dallas Waddle was born about 1865, in Ohio. The census shows his parents were from Virginia.
The 1920 Conway County, Arkansas census shows the family living in Lick Mountain Township. The census shows Dallas J. Wadle, 55, a farmer, born in Ohio; Sallie, wife, 46; Otto, son, 15; and Barnie, son, 12 years old.
Jessie Waddle died February 27, 1921. Dallas and Sallie had no children.
The 1930 Van Buren County, Arkansas census shows Sallie living with her daughter Julia Duncan. The census shows Enoch R. Duncan, 30, a farmer; Julia K., wife, 32; Verda M, daughter, 10; Thurma E., son, 4 yrs - 7 mo.; Leland R., 5 mo. and Sarah Waddle, mother-in-law, 56, widowed.
Sallie died February 11, 1957 and is buried in the Blackwell Cemetery west of Bee Branch, in Van Buren County. We believe her father Rolen Branham is also buried there.

1. July Lane was born Aug 1889, in AR. She was listed as 10 years old on the 1900 census. We believe she died prior to 1910.
2. Lucretia Maryann Isolene Lane was born Oct 8, 1891, in Searcy Co, AR. She married Patrick Moses Jordon in 1907, in Van Buren Co, AR. Patrick Jordon was born Apr 1, 1887, in AR, the son of John Fredrick Jordon (b. Apr 28, 1845). Patrick died June 23, 1935, in Conway Co, AR and is buried in Halbrook Cem in Conway Co. Lucretia died July 5, 1955, in Conway Co and is buried in Halbrook Cem. Their children included: (1) Edith Sarah Jordon, b. Sept 11, 1911, AR; d. June 24, 1994, Faulkner Co, AR; bur. Halbrook Cem; m. John Henry Foreman; (2) Ola Mae Jordon, b. Sept 8, 1913, Conway Co, AR; d. June 27, 2003, Conway Co, AR; m. Prestige "Buck" Foreman, then m. 4. Ethel Lane was born Aug 1895, in AR. She married G. W. Ford in 1909, in Van Buren Co, AR. Ethel then m. Dan Ward in 1924, in Van Buren Co. Ethel is buried in Blackwell Cem, in Van Buren Co, AR.
5. Julia Katherine Lane was born Apr 24, 1897, in AR. She married Enoch R. Duncan in 1918, in Van Buren Co, AR. Julia died Nov 27, 1986, in Van Buren Co, and is buried in Blackwell Cem, Van Buren Co. Children included: (1) Verda M. Duncan, (2) Thurman E. Duncan and (3) Leland R. Duncan

7. Barney A. Hubbard was born Dec 17, 1907, in AR. He died Feb 9, 1987.
8. Jennie E. Hubbard was born 1909, in AR. She died about mid Dec 1910, soon after her father died, and is buried beside him in Foster Cem, in Van Buren Co.
